Meet the Team

We are Born from VBS Co. out of passion for all things with a throttle.

In an industrial area just outside of Te Rapa in Hamilton, tucked in between multiple storage units and workshops, is VBS Co. We specialise in the art of custom motorcycle, hotrod detailing and related parts and apparel.

We have a Custom Motorcycle Workshop, Body Shop and online store.

WWW.THROTTLETOWN.CO.NZ - Our Motorcycle Parts and Apparel online superstore, shipping daily around NZ.

WHO WE ARE

WADE PHILLIPS: "The Bossman" in the workshop and head of Fabrication and Design

Wade started his career in Panel and Paint but was never too far from a passion project on the side with a  motorcycle or hotrod. He got to a point in his career where he wanted to see if he could setup a business based on his passion.

"We knew a guy that had these sheds and we started renting this one off him, I slapped a piece of paper on the door and started operating".

In those first few months Wade predominately focused on panel and paint with insurance jobs, and gradually introduced the motorcycles and hotrod side of the business. Now with our brand and reputation established we have transitioned out of panel and insurance to concentrate on what it is we love, building custom motorcycles and vehicles, and selling the parts and apparel to ride your own ride, the way you want to do it.

NADIA PHILLIPS: "The Office lady" - Marketing, Creative and Admin Manager, Girl who rides... and all round workshop mum

Nadia worked in the big wide corporate world in Marketing and Events before using her skills and experience to take on the challenge to help build, grow and expand their own business and brand, VBS Co. and now Throttle Town.

If they refer to the office lady, this is who they mean. She can also be elusive and hard to track down, while she tackles her other challenge of two growing boys and a full time job. However she can do her best work in the early hours of the morning while being mum.

JOHN TONKIN: "Big John" - our master fabricator, Landrover lover, and all round good guy

John is a panelbeater by trade, and he is pretty good at what he does. In his final year of apprenticeship he won 1st in the Waikato and 2nd NZ for Panelbeating, he even has a trophy to prove it.

Before he came to work for us he was building ambulances and in his downtime has restored a 1958 Landrover, Series 1, 107 station wagon. Rear as hens teeth we are told. He has been known to fire up like a ginger, so we keep him happy in the Body Shop, and if you bring your car in he will most probably be the one who will run your job. John loves his job. Be more like John.
